Your $125 kits will include a compostable grow pot, Coast of Maine organic compost, fertilizers, and vegetable starter (tomato, pepper, or other nightshade), an email from us with a link to the class.
CLASS: Beginning May 18th, the group will meet twice a month (every other Thursday) to discuss progress and receive instruction, tips and guidance on their individual growing experiences.
POTLUCK(TBD): This program will culminate in a possible potluck harvest dinner, where participants will bring dishes made from what they grew to share with the other members depending on where participants live (TBD). There will also be a tastiest dish (at dinner) and most beautiful for those that can’t make the dinner (photo) contest.
In the same vein as “teach a person to fish”, the power from learning to grow your own food not only connects you to what you eat; providing fresh nutrient-dense ingredients, but also empowers someone to then share their bounty with others. This further promotes community and connects us all through the practice of cultivation and growing.
