Sell By Design Contest To Award One Lucky Metrowest Area Homeowner a Home “Facelift” Valued At Up To $50,000
Hopkinton, MA, February 10, 2010 – Weston Nurseries, Inc. announced today that they have collaborated with Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty to present the “Sell By Design Contest” for single family homeowners who plan to sell their home (within an 18 town area) this spring. One grand prize winner will be awarded a home “facelift” package valued at up to $50,000 from the participating partners designed to enhance their home’s marketability and appeal
Single family homeowners in 18 nearby communities are being encouraged to visit www.SellByDesignContest.com between February 1, 2010 and March 31, 2010 to enter the contest by submitting their 100-word essay on why their home would most benefit from a home “facelift”.
One grand prize winner will be selected on April 9th and that homeowner will receive a home “facelift” package from the participating partners valued at up to $50,000. This renovation will include comprehensive interior and exterior improvements intended to increase the home’s market value and overall appeal to buyers. Once the renovations are complete, the home will be listed for sale by Hallmark Sotheby’s International Realty. Five (5) runner-up homeowners will also win Flip video camcorders and consultation packages from all of the participating partners.
“We are participating in this event because we think Hallmark Sotheby's has really come up with a great concept that will demonstrate what prudent investing into your home will do for its value. We have stated for years that investing in your landscape will increase the value of your home by more than you put into it.” - Peter Mezitt, President, Weston Nurseries, Inc.
As with the landscape industry, remodelers and interior designers strongly believe that prudent investing into your home will return more than you invest. Besides the obvious benefit to the homeowner of receiving substantial upgrades to the home and landscape, the contest should demonstrate that the investment increased the actual selling price of the home by far more than the appraised market value prior to the alterations. Peter adds: “The house we select will most likely be one that needs some work in the front – fresh plantings, walkway, etc. We think that will have the most impact on the homes market value.”
“In today’s competitive real estate market, sellers need to leverage every advantage possible. This includes landscaping, design, staging and home improvements. The concept of bringing the best and the brightest in the industry together to showcase the value of their services to home sellers was the impetus of the Sell By Design Contest.” – Muneeza Nasrullah, Realtor, Contest Coordinator, Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty.
